1931 STINSON JUNIOR MODEL S “DETROITER” NC10886

Stinson 886 was manufactured in August 1931 by Stinson Aircraft Company of Wayne, Michigan and spent its first 10 years flying scheduled service in major cities, up and down the east coast

It served with the C.A.P. during WWII and was used for banner towing and charter flights during the 50’s and 60’s.

Flying the “burgundy beauty” is owner/pilot Jim Hammond. Rumored to be a “rich industrialist”, Jim is an engineer, aviation historian, and widely known as the “second greatest flyer in the world.”

With its large payload, the Stinson Detroiter is sure to be hauling large quantities of Marvel Mystery Oil, bootleg whiskey and other contraband barnstormers require.
