1932 WACO QDC

Owner/Pilot: Alan Buchner
The Waco factory in Troy Ohio, originally built this rare Waco QDC in early 1932. The QDC was the first cabin model airplane that Waco produced and out of 37 that were built, only 2 are still flying today.
In 1969 Alan first saw this Waco QDC standing on its nose in a corner of a barn in Merced California. It had been there for 15 years. After Alan was able to finally purchase it, it took nearly 15 years to refurbish it.
After Alan owned the Waco for two years, he found out that in 1938 this Waco was owned by his dad and used for barnstorming, charter service, flying hunters and fishermen into remote bush strips in the California Mountains, and had made the first airmail flight out of Bakersfield, California in 1938.
This Waco QDC has won awards all over the United States and was grand champion in Oshkosh in 1996.
